Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
The 365 business AL Extension Manager provides you with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface for managing your partner apps and extensions.
Overview of dependencies
When managing extensions and partner apps, it is essential to keep track of installed extensions and their dependencies.
The 365 business AL Extension Manager provides an integrated visualization of dependencies between the extensions and partner apps installed in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Dependency representation while installation
Prerequisites, such as installed dependencies and minimum versions, are already displayed by the AL Extension Manager before installation. When installing multiple extensions at the same time, they are sorted according to the dependency structure.
Microsoft partners usually deliver their extensions as runtime packages. These cannot be analyzed easily via Microsoft PowerShell, for example. This means that it is not possible to detect possible dependencies during installation and to adjust the installation sequence accordingly.
The 365 business AL Extension Manager also analyzes and sorts runtime packages according to their corresponding dependencies and thus ensures that each installation is also carried out successfully.
